Day of Service to Honor Braylon (11/11/23)
To honor Braylon and his selfless spirit, Braylon’s family and friends gathered together to give back to the community on the 1st anniversary of Braylon's passing. We wanted to take back this tragic day and turn it into a day of celebrating Braylon’s amazing life while being surrounded by those who loved him.
Food for Neighbors (FFN) is a non-profit that helps to provide food for the Arlington Public Schools (APS) food pantries. Braylon volunteered with FFN a few weeks before he died and Rose has helped regularly. Crowell and Moring held a food drive and generously provided an additional 1,263 lbs of food to the 1,932 lbs collected from the Arlington community. Volunteers worked hard to sort the over 3,000 lbs of food and distributed it to participating middle and high schools.

Donaldson Run Tribute - Basketball Court Dedication (7/4/23)
On July 4, 2023, Braylon’s family, friends, Washington-Liberty basketball teammates and coaches gathered to dedicate the “Braylon Meade Court” at Donaldson Run Pool. The court was dedicated to honor the memory and enduring legacy of Braylon Meade, a son, brother, friend, and a beloved member of the Donaldson Run community.
In preparation for the event, the Donaldson Run pool community replaced an aging basketball stand and hoop, repainted the court to include a silhouette image of Braylon, and purchased a memorial bench."Braylon Meade Court" was prominently painted, serving as a welcoming sight for players upon entering the basketball court.
Braylon spent his summers at Donaldson Run pool where he was a member of the swim team and worked as a lifeguard. The court was where he honed his basketball skills and showcased his talents in the annual swim team lip sync competition.
The dedication ceremony commenced with an inaugural dunk and 3-point contest, featuring participation from Braylon's former swim and basketball teammates, while former coaches took on the role of judges. Moving forward, we intend to host an annual July 4th dunk and 3-point competition in his honor.

Swim-a-thon (7/4/2023)
On July 4, 2023, as per DR tradition, the swim team hosted a swim-a-thon to raise money for charity. This year the team chose to raise money for the Braylon Meade Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Arlington Community Foundation, created to provide multiple college scholarships to deserving Arlington high school students.
The amazing DR community contributed over $20,000 to Braylon's scholarship fund in just one short week surpassing an initial goal of $10,000! The Foundation awarded recurring scholarships - in Braylon's name - this year to three extraordinary individuals who have been part of the Arlington community; the scholarships will make college more affordable for each.
Ginger Cup (6/9/23)
The inaugural Ginger Cup was a huge success, with a full roster of 144 players participating and many more joining for the dinner and awards. It was a special day, bringing together Braylon's family, friends, and community. We also raised over $15,000 for the Braylon Meade Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Fort C.F. Smith Memorial Bench (4/20/23)
Braylon’s friends purchased and dedicated a memorial bench in Braylon’s honor at Fort C.F. Smith Park. The Kehoe-Meade’s have years of memories at this park including birthday parties, laser tag, and scavenger hunts with buried treasure.
